What is a "Blueprinted" BBS Engine?
First, we get a fresh motor from the manufacture in stock form. It is then run on our computer controlled dyno with a special technique to heat cycle it in under varying load conditions similar to what is seen on the track. This process ensures that all the components have taken their final "set" under race conditions.
Secondly, the engine is completely disassembled and each component is ultrasonically cleaned, inspected and perfected. Next the cylinder is re-honed with a proprietary process we developed over decades of building and racing kart engines. A new piston is fitted to our specifications and the engine is reassembled for maximum performance within the rules.
Finally, the engine is put back on our dyno and ran through a series of parameters for proper break in. Then we begin tuning the engine using fuel mapping technology to optimize the shape of the HP and torque curves.
This lengthy process ensures that your "Blueprinted" BBS engine will perform like a seasoned race engine from the moment you put it on the kart.
